Americans are going to the polls on Tuesday, November 5, to elect a new president between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump as President Joe Biden's tenure nears an end.

Donald Trump wins Georgia

Donald Trump has won the state of Georgia in the ongoing US presidential election with 63.5 per cent of the votes.

Trump's victory in Georgia is the second of the battlefield states that the former US president would win as the election results rolled out.

As Vice President Kamala Harris loses Georgia, her hope of becoming the first US female president became threatened.

Donald Trump wins North Carolina

Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has secured victory in one of the swing states in the ongoing presidential election.

Trump's victory in North Carolina shattered the hope of Kamala Harris of becoming the first Democrat to win the state since 2008.

The ongoing presidential election has been described as historic as Kamala Harris work to become the first female president of the United States.

Trump leads in six battlefield states

Former US President Donald Trump has taken the lead in six of the battlefield states in the ongoing presidential election.

The outcome so far threatened the chances of Kamala Harris becoming first female United States president.

Trump is taking the lead in Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona.

Viral baby hippo predicts winner between Harris, Trump

Former US President Donald Trump has been tipped for re-election in the November 5 presidential election.

Moo Deng, the adorable pygmy hippo, made the prediction after her caretaker Khao Kheow Open Zoo, made the experiment.

The prediction has started creating excitement among the supporters of Trump, who were comparing it to that of Paul the Octopus, who famously predicted World Cup winners in 2010.

Trump gives condition to accept defeat

Former United States President Donald Trump, contesting in the November 5 presidential election, has expressed his readiness to concede defeat should he lose in the poll,

Trump, after casting his vote in Florida, expressed confidence in winning the election and that he would not hesitate to accept defeat if the election was fair.

The former US president also expressed confidence that the election will be peaceful, adding that his supporters are not violence.

Donald Trump said he is "confident" after he cast his ballot in Florida.

Harris, who sent her own ballot by mail, urged people to “get out and vote”.

US election 2024: Voting disrupted in 2 polling units

Georgia election officials had to evacuate two polling locations outside of Atlanta on Election Day after a “foreign state actor” called in what were eventually deemed non-credible bomb threats, according to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

CNN noted the development.

Raffensperger said at a press conference on Tuesday, November 5:

“We pretty well dispelled that very quickly.
“But we want to make sure everything stays safe … That was this morning, and law enforcement jumped right on that and we knew it was coming from a foreign state actor.”

US poll: Georgia winner may be projected on election night

Georgia secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger, is optimistic a Georgia winner will be projected on election night.

With more than 4 million early votes already cast and mail-in ballots received and accepted, all of them must be uploaded and recorded no later than one hour after polls close, Raffensperger said.

He said:

"Most polls will close at 7 p.m., so by 8 p.m. 'you’ll have probably 99% of all that, so you’ll get a good idea of what the race looks like'.
“And then all the voting you’re seeing today, before the end of the night, you’ll have all that.”

Many of Georgia’s smaller counties are trying to finish by 10 or 10:30 p.m. at the latest.

Raffensperger added:

“But by the end of the night, you’ll have all those results."

Harris leading Trump among Latino voters in battleground state

A Univision and YouGov survey has shown that Kamala Harris is leading Donald Trump by 34 points among Latino voters in the United States (US) of Pennsylvania.

As reported by The Hill, Harris, the incumbent US vice president, leads former President Trump by 34 percentage points among Latino voters in the key swing state of Pennsylvania.

Donald trump's running mate and Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance cast his ballot in-person.

Vance cast his ballet at his polling place in Cincinnati with his wife, Usha, and their children.

“I feel good, you never know until you know, but I feel good about this race.”

US election: Philadelphia city commissioner declares that ballots counting will be much faster

Philadelphia City Commissioner Seth Bluestein said ballot counting will go “much faster” in the 2024 election cycle compared to 2020.

Speaking during an interview with CNN, he said:

“We started pre-canvassing our mail ballots as soon as the polls opened at 7 a.m. today and we are going to count the ballots much faster than we did in 2020.”

US presidential election: Voting time extended in Pennsylvania's Cambria County

Voting time has been extended in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, after a “software malfunction” disrupted voters’ ability to scan their ballots.

The election officials urged voters not to be discouraged “software malfunction.”

The Office of County Commissioners said:

“There is a process in place for issues of this nature” and the malfunction “should not discourage voters from voting at their voting precincts.”

US presidential election: Trump, Harris end their campaigns

Trump ended his final campaign in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he also closed his 2016 and 2020 campaigns speaking for nearly two hours as he repeated his campaign promises.

Harris had her last rally in the swing state of Pennsylvania where the current vice president highlighted how she plans to “build an economy where we bring down the cost of living” and promised to make housing and childcare more affordable.

The Republican candidate, Donald Trump argued he’s really not running against Kamala Harris but “an evil Democrat system.”

The former US president stated this during his rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
