Tope Alabi is a Nigerian gospel singer, film music composer, and actress. She was born on October 27, 1970, in Ogun State, Nigeria. She is also known as Ore ti o common and as Agbo Jesu.
Career
Tope Alabi obtained a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from the Polytechnic of Ibadan. After graduating in 1990, she worked as a correspondent at NTA (Nigerian Television Authority) in Ibadan. She started singing at a young age when she joined the choir at her local Catholic church at the age of seven.
Prior to her music career, Tope Alabi worked with the Jesters International comedy group as well as other Lagos and Ibadan-based travelling and stage theatre groups. Her movies were mainly of the Yoruba genre before she dived into the gospel music world after becoming a born-again Christian.
