Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso
A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa, Alhaji Ishaq Hadejia has confirmed that the immediate past governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso is still a card carrying member of the party.
The senator Adamawa Central district, Abdul-Azeez Nyako, has revealed that he and others including his father, former governor Murtala Nyako, are set to quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) due to marginalisation.
Rabiu Kwankwaso, senator representing Kano central, says the alleged underage voting in the state’s recently conducted local government polls could only have happened because only one party contested the election.
Ahead of the controversial visit to Kano by Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso on Tuesday January 30, the Presidency on Monday summoned Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and the senator to avert breakdown of law and order in Kano State.

The Kano state police command has warned former governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to shelve his planned visit to Kano over rising tension in the state. Kwankwaso was scheduled to visit the state on January 30 for a political rally.
Two factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano led by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso respectively, are set to hold parallel rallies in the state. The situation is creating tension.
Former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has reportedly given the go-ahead to his supporters to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC).
It was learnt that the Peoples Democratic Party had been speaking with former Kwankwaso to return to its fold and were anxiously waiting for his next move.
