The PDP has said it represents the true coalition of Nigerians from across the country adding that its experience in governance and successful rebound from challenges has provided it an edge over every other party.

The fed govt has responded to the scathing criticisms launched by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo on the Muhammadu-Buhari administration. The response was given in a lengthy statement released by the minister of information.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former president, on Tuesday, January 23, asked President Muhammadu Buhari, not to bother seeking re-election in 2019 as he is already being pressured to do by some Nigerians.

The party's national publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said in a short message sent to political correspondents that the party will study the statement by the former president and respond appropriately afterwards.

Ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo issued a press statement on the state of the nation, which he titled The way out: a clarion call for coalition for Nigeria movement. In the statement, Obasanjo advised Buhari not to seek re-election.

Former president Obasanjo in a letter, titled The Way Out: A Clarion Call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement, talked about the numerous issues bothering Nigeria as a country. He advised President Buhari against second term.

Stating his reason, the former president said he would prefer that people continue to address him as 'Chief Olusegun Obasanjo' which he adopted after leaving the military to become Nigeria's democratically elected leader.

The former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, the United Nations secretary general, Antonio Guterres, has said will be in Monrovia, Liberia to support the peaceful transfer of power to a democratically elected president.

Nigeria's former President, Olusegun Obasanjo was on Friday, December 15,pronounced competent for the award of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Christian Theology.
