Terrorist group Boko Haram on Friday, April 2, claimed responsibility for the missing Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jet deployed against the insurgents in Borno.

According to NAF on Friday, April 2, the missing Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) which lost radar on Wednesday, March 31 might have been involved in an accident.

On arrival in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, AVM Amao was briefed on ongoing search and rescue efforts in connection with the missing Alpha Jet aircraft.

The Nigerian Air Force says search and rescue efforts have begun after its Alpha-Jet on a mission to support ground troops in Borno lost contact with radar.

The new information was disclosed by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) spokesman, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet in a tweet seen by Legit.ng late Wednesday, March 31.
