The Nigeria Civil Society Forum has advised the NLC to reconsider their scheduled nationwide protest against economic difficulties slated for February 27 and 28.

The NLC in Niger state have suspended a strike they started on Wednesday, February 21. The NLC reached the decision after meeting with Governor Mohammed Bago.

As NLC threatens strike, the Bola Tinubu administration has said it is committed to its obligation on the signed October 2023 agreement with the organised labour.

One of the notable labour movements in Nigeria, TUC, has refused to join the planned strike action by NLC. TUC levelled some accusations against NLC's Joe Ajaero.

Labour unions in Niger state on Wednesday, February 21, embarked on an indefinite strike. The aggrieved workers shut down government offices and hospitals.

Organised labour has insisted on embarking on its two-day national protest despite warning by the DSS. The union president, Joe Ajaero, said the protest will hold.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned organised labour against staging a two-day national mass protest on February, 27th and 28th over economic hardship.

The NLC has shifted ground concerning the N1 million it demanded as minimum wage for workers in Nigeria. The country is presently experiencing hardship.

Police commands in Nigeria have warned groups or organisations planning protests in the country to avoid violence. Nigerians are lamenting rising hardship.
