The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II has blamed the federal government for the killings in the north central part of the country.The emir claimed 800 herdsmen were killed in Taraba in 2017 but the government did not take action.

Despite allegations of mass killings levelled against Fulani herdsmen in the country, particularly the recent killings in Benue, an association of the herdsmen has also raised alarms that its members are being killed.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has called for a crucial meeting with other Fulani groups over the alleged killing of Fulani people. The group claimed 24 of its members were killed in Taraba state.

Barely seven days to the enforcement of the open grazing prohibition law in Benue state, Ortom said his people will stone him if he failed to implement the law.

Usman Ngelzarma is the national secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and he is not happy with the Nigerian news media.

MACBAN has said that the massive violence in Southern Kaduna was a reprisal attack for the killing of Fulani herdsmen after the 2011 presidential election.
