The new fuel price in Nigeria may trigger a fresh minimum wage negotiation in the country, an expert, Paul Alaje, disclosed on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has spoken amid the non implementation of the N70,000 new national minimum wage by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu government.

Katsina Governor Dikko Radda has reiterated his administration’s dedication to implementing the newly approved N70,000 by President Tinubu's led government.

The Kano house of assembly has passed a supplementary budget. Jubilation erupted as the state government included the N70,000 new minimum wage payment.

Reasons why some governors are yet to implement the new minimum wage have been revealed and governors who said they're waiting for Tinubu's order have been compiled.

The president of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, has spoken on the new national minimum wage implementation. N70,000 was agreed on between the FG and labour leaders in July.

The NLC has opened up on the possibility of strike after the Bola Tinubu administration increased fuel price. Fuel price has moved from N617 to N897 per litre.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured corps members that their allowance will increase when the federal government implements the new minimum wage.
