The Delta state government on Wednesday, May 26, denied that the £4.2 million looted by ex-state governor, James Ibori, has not been returned to the state.

The £4.2 million looted by the James Ibori government in Delta has been returned to the state according to Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris.

The Nigeria government has received the £4.2million seized from the associates of convicted former governor of Delta state, James Ibori from the United Kingdom.

Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta governor, has finally spoken on the James Ibori loot recovered by Nigeria. He said his government has written a protest letter to Buhari.

Delta state has said that it will never allow the federal government claim the recovered loot (about N2.2 billion) of one of its former governors, James Ibori.

The British government has resolved to return to Nigeria £4.2million being part of the funds so far recovered from friends and family members of James Ibori.

James Ibori, former governor of Delta state is facing a fresh hearing in the United Kingdom and this could lead the court asking that he returns £117 million he allegedly looted while in office.

Ex-Governor Jame Ibori, has urged governors in the south-south part of the country to unite and work together to ensure massive development of the region.
