Ibikunle Amosun
An allegation that the former governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, illegally imported massive weapons and ammunition into the country has been dismissed by the presidency.
A report by Premium Times indicated that a few hours before former governor Ibikunle Amosun, left office, he allegedly contacted the state’s commissioner of police, Bashir Makama, and confessed that he had thousands of arms.
Governor Ibikunle Amosun was reacting to a widely published piece by veteran journalist turned politician, Reuben Abati, who accused the governor of being vindictive after failing to install his stooge as his successor.
The national working committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress has suspended Governor Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun and his counterpart, Rochas Okorocha of Imo state from the party. The NWC took the decision on Friday, March 1.
