A senior advocate of Nigeria, Olisa Agbakogba, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of harassing Kogi government with media trial.

EFCC has arraigned Ali Bello, a nephew to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and one Dauda Sulaiman for fraudulently withdrawing N10bn from the state's treasury.

Kogi government has debunked an allegation of money laundering levelled against it by the EFCC, saying the anti-graft agency is on a mission to embarrass them.

The governor said Unongo had contributed to the unity, progress and political developments of the country and dedicated his life to the service of his people.

At the event, Kogi governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello pledged to deliver the state to the ruling APC ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections in the country.

Kogi state is currently in crisis in the build-up to the 2023 general election. The brawl is said to be between the ruling party APC and the main opposition PDP
