In a social media post on Thursday, February 18, Chief Fani-Kayode recalled how Saraki worked against the re-election of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain from northern origin, Tanko Ibrahim, has warned Ayodele Fayose that the party will die if FFK eventually defects to APC.

According to Chief Fani-Kayode, the prompt intervention of the Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde and some of his colleagues in northern Nigeria saved the day.

Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday, insisted that the former aviation minister, Chief Olufemi Fani-Kayode, is not leaving the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Femi Fani-Kayode met with Governor Seyi Makinde but bumped into presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, amid rumoured fence-crossing move to the ruling APC.

The group specifically directed the ultimatum to the PDP's Board of Trustees, National Working Committee (NWC), and other prominent stakeholders in the PDP.

Although Fani-Kayode denied defecting to APC, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi has hinted that the PDP chieftain is on the course to return to the ruling party.

Salihu Lukman, the director-general of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, said the defection of Femi Fani-Kayode to the All Progressives Congress was stalled.

Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister and PDP chieftain, said in 2019 that he would rather die than join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
