Who is Desmond Elliot?
Desmond Elliot is a multi-talented Nigerian actor, director, and politician. He was born on February 4, 1974, in Lagos, Nigeria, to a father from Olowogbowo in Lagos Island and a mother from Illah in Delta State. Desmond received his primary education at Air Force Primary School and his secondary education at St John’s College, both in Jos. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lagos State University in 2003.
Career
Desmond began his acting career by appearing in soap operas such as Saints and Sinners, One Too Many, and Everyday People. He has since become a well-known Nollywood actor, appearing in over 200 films, including Men Who Cheat, Yahoo Millionaire, and Atlanta.
In 2006, he received an African Movie Academy Award nomination for “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” for his performance in the film “Behind Closed Doors.” In 2008, Desmond co-produced and co-directed the film “Reloaded,” which received three African Movie Academy Award nominations the following year. In 2009 and 2010, he was nominated for Best Actor at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
In addition to his successful acting career, Desmond is also involved in politics. In September 2014, he announced his intention to run for the Lagos State House of Assembly as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He won the election and has been representing Surulere Constituency since April 11, 2015.
Wife and Children
Desmond is married to Victoria Elliot, and they have four children together – two sets of twins named Denzel, Desmond Jr., Donald, and Dawn.
