The verdict of the National Industrial Court (NIC) restraining the planned nationwide strike has been shunned by the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the NLC.

The federal government, through the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige, has reacted to the ultimatum given to it by the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has lambasted the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige, declared hi the minister of dispute escalation.

The federal government in a statement on Sunday, May 31, asked ASUU to return to the negotiation table or face serious consequences if it refuses to comply.

The circular which was signed by the secretary-general of the ASCSN, Bashir Lawal, said the labour unions have given the FG up till Wednesday, October 16, to reconvene the meeting of the Consequential Adjustment Committee.
