Five Things Could Be Learnt From Nigeria vs Bosnia Match

The Super Eagles turned up to play and gave their all in securing the victory over Bosnia in their second game of 2014 World Cup.

It was a game of huge implications for either side who needed the match to keep their hopes alive, but it was the fire of Bosnia which was extinguished as they crashed out of the World Cup. While for Nigeria, it was their first win at a World Cup tournament since their last victory against Bulgaria in 1998.

Here are some things we could learnt from the game:

Vincent Enyeama remains Nigeria's saviour:Whenever Enyeama is in goal for the Super Eagles there is this confidence he brings to the whole team, one of someone who is impregnable.

And the Lille FC man proved why he is the dependable and the undisputed first choice keeper for Nigeria with his immaculate saves in the game against Bosnia.

Enyeama made some vital saves when Edin Dzeko's goal was wrongly ruled out for an offside. Bosnia irked by that decision had a couple of shots that came close to finding the net.

Enyeama remained unwavered, but the telling point came with the last kick of the game when he made a vital save off Dzeko, kicking the ball to the bar and out. On another day it would have been 1-1.

Keshi got his tactics right:Stephen Keshi unlike in his match against Iran seemed to have made the right selection against Bosnia.

Michael Babatunde was a surprise inclusion in the starting eleven, and up until his substitution with suspected cramps justified his inclusion.

Dropping Victor Moses paid off and so was the inclusion of Osaze Odemwingie in the starting eleven.

There was a perfect blend and balance in the team that lined up against Bosnia.

The way Emmanuel Emenike and Osaze alternated in the right wing was lovely to see and it was not surprising the goal came from there.

Emenike is a bully:Keshi will be needing his strength to nullify the opposition defence, because he is someone who can instil fear in defenders.

The Fenerbahce striker has got pace, power and the ability to have a go at the defenders which was very evident the way he rattled Bosnia's left back with his sheer abilities.

It was through his determination and perseverance that Nigeria got the solitary goal which made the difference.

No doubt that the next team Nigeria will play would be wondering how best to stop him, put two players on him?

Though, he will still find a way through, because he has the strength of a 'bull'.

Yobo is not finished:Prior to the tournament, there were calls for Joseph Yobo not to be included in the team as some felt that he is now old and can't offer much to the team.

Yobo coming in for the injured Godfrey Oboabona in the starting line-up showed that there is still life in the old dog.

He made vital blocks that helped the team, and his positioning and awareness was stellar. The way he led the lines was exemplary.

His experience was brought to the fore and he helped out Kenneth Omeruo in keeping Dzeko at bay.

Osaze and Emenike seems to have an understanding:Both Osaze and Emenike showed that they could rattle defenders with their trickery and menacing runs.

It was their good combination that led to Nigeria's goal in the match. First was Osaze who started the build -up,picked out Emenike on the right and he in return after some nice work found the Stoke City player and squared a pass that he tapped in between the legs of Asmir Begovic.

Both of them have pace and can make all the difference in a match, which was evident in the way they troubled Bosnia.

Nigeria will be a force seeing the two of them have an extended run together in the team, their attacking prowess is one Keshi can really utilise.
