Over 300 Fans Depart To Brazil To Support Super Eagles

No fewer than 328 supporters of the Super Eagles boarded a chartered aircraft, which departed to Brazil from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on June 13, 2014, Friday.

The special tour for the 2014 FIFA World Cup was approved by the Nigerian Football Federation and its organiser was Wakanow Travel and Tours Limited.

The Managing Director of the travel and tourist agency, Mr Obinna Ekezie, revealed that the preference was given to the special flight for fans in order to reduce the stress caused by connecting flights from different international airports to Brazil.

Ekezie reminded that there are no direct flights to the venue of the Mundial. Therefore, the minimum time required to get there is more than 24-25 hours. It may be really hard for some fans to spend two days travelling. Therefore, a chartered aircraft, which took Super Eagles’ fans directly to Brazil, was the best solution.

The agency is also responsible for catering those who purchased the tour during their whole stay in the South American country.

The exclusive Nigerian World Cup Tour Operator also provides hotels, ground transportation and other logistic services.

Ekezie assured that his company’s staff is in Brazil and take care of such aspects as hiring translators and even cooking Nigeria food at a contracted restaurant. He added that all these things are done in order to ensure that the Super Eagles get the proper support by fans and would perform well at the tournament.

According to the website of the agency, the starting rate of the packages is N450,000. The customers would spend 5 nights in Sao Paulo June 21-26, 2014 or June 22-27, 2014.

At the same time, the top package (Comprehensive Signature Package) costs a whopping N3,077,000. The client would get 12 nights in Rio de Janeiro, June 14-16, 2014.

Match ticket application assistance is also offered by the company.

At the same time, an official governmental delegation, including Senate President David Mark and over a dozen of other dignitaries is also in Brazil to support Stephen Keshi and his boys.

The first match of the team in Group F, Iran vs Nigeria, kicks of on June 16, 2014, Monday, at 20:00 (Nigeria time).
