Joseph Yobo Is Sure Of Super Eagles' Success In Game Against Iran

The Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo says the Nigerian team is ready to defeat Iran in their opening match of 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held June 16 in Brazil.

Despite the fact that the Eagles played three friendlies ahead of the Mundial without a win, Yobo is sure it would not prevent them from performing well in the tournament.

According to Vanguard, the 33-year-old defender explained:

"We believe in ourselves. We have played some friendly games. Not the results we expected but we have learnt a lot from it. (The games were) a little bit experimental as well, but now were ready to go so come the first game against Iran, we’ll make sure we do very well and get the three points."

Although Yobo didn't hide the disappointment they felt over not winning, he stressed the importance of deriving positive experience from it in order to achieve better results.

It would be recalled that two friendlies, with Scotland and Greece, ended in a draw, while the last pre-World Cup match brought victory to the US team (2-1).
