Ejike Uzoenyi Might Miss 2014 World Cup

Enugu Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi, called up as a replacement for injured Elderson Echiejile for the 2014 World Cup, is in danger of missing the tournament.

The player might not head for Brazil, as Enugu Rangers have stated they have not received any official notice either by the Nigeria Football Federation or FIFA.

Speaking with Goal.com Rangers Director of Media and Publicity Foster Chime explained that they would not allow one of their key players to go to Brazil ahead of the team's rearranged premier league clash with El Kanemi Warriors, until they receive an official request by one of the said bodies.

Tuesday morning Uzoenyi was said to be still training with his team.

Chime was quoted saying:

"We are happy for him but things must be done the proper way. We are very optimistic that he will get the letter very soon."

Nigeria is to play its first group game against Iran already on June 16.
