SAD NEWS: Ivory Coast Playmaker Out Of 2014 World Cup
Barely three months before the kick off of the 2014 World Cup holding in Brazil, Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone has been declared doubtful for the football show piece.
According news coming out of his club side in England, Everton, the playmaker is unlikely to play again this season following a surgery he had recently.
Kone has been sidelined since October and required an operation to fix a cartilage problem in his knee.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez said: "I don't think we will see him play again this season.

"It has been a major surgery and it is more realistic to see him come back in pre-season."
That assessment would appear to end Kone's hopes of heading to this summer's tournament with Ivory Coast, who have been drawn in Group C alongside Colombia, Greece and Japan.
It could be recalled that African born Christian Benteke has also suffered a serious achilles tendon injury in training that has wrecked the remainder of his season at Aston Villa and the dream of representing Belgium at the World Cup finals.
It was gathered that Benteke went down in training on Thursday, as the team prepared for the home Premier League match against Fulham on Saturday, and scans have revealed a rupture that will require surgery and an absence of at least six months.
