The storylines are even better when you factor in that this is set to be the biggest test of Ruben Amorim's tenure, less than a month since he was appointed as the new head coach.

The Red Devils are yet to lose a game since Erik ten Hag was sacked, but in Arsenal, they will face a different animal. They might be nine points behind Liverpool after a wobbly October, but they remain in contention for the title.

Arsenal

Mikel Arteta would sleep better if he knew Gabriel Magalhaes would be 100% fit for the Wednesday evening showdown. The Brazilian came off at halftime in the goal-fest vs West Ham.

He joins Thomas Partey and Mikel Merino, who haven't been ruled out entirely but will have to pass late fitness tests. Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu are the confirmed absentees.

Manchester United

The visitors have worse problems than their opponents. Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo will miss the game via suspension after accumulating five yellow cards.

Amorim's woes were compounded after Luke Shaw suffered yet another injury relapse. Shaw joins Victor Lindelof and Johnny Evans, who are most likely to miss out as well.

Luckily for United, Harry Maguire and Lenny Yoro are fit again, with the latter in line to feature in a matchday squad for the first time. Captain Bruno Fernandes is also available despite a huge injury scare after coming off vs Everton.
