Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi wrote a 'Jesus loves you' on his rainbow captain's armband during their clash against Ipswich Town.
The England international wrote the words despite a reminder by the Football Association (FA) that the message was banned.
The rainbow armbands worn by captains are to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

In Palace's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United this past weekend, Guehi wrote 'I love Jesus' on the armband, a decision that sparked mixed reactions on social media.

The FA reminded the defender that any religious message on the kit is banned, but he defied that warning on Tuesday.
Guehi and Palace beat the newly promoted team to register their first away win of the season, thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta's goal. It is only their second win of the season.
After the game, Palace manager Oliver Glasner spoke about the armband controversy surrounding Guehi.
"Everyone now is about integration, no discrimination and Marc as well," Glasner told Amazon Prime vis BBC Sport. "We all have the same opinion. We are in sports and in sports we are always against discrimination and any kind of abuse, and Marc as well."
Ipswich captain Sam Morsy refused to wear the rainbow armband on Tuesday again because of "religious beliefs".
The Rainbow Laces campaign started on November 29 and runs until December 5.
