Terrifying scenes were witnessed during a Serie A match between Fiorentina and Inter Milan at the Artemio Franchi Stadium on Sunday evening.
Midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed in the 16th minute with his teammates and opponents urgently calling for medical help.
What happened to Edoardo Bove?
Bove suddenly fell down on the pitch unchallenged and was rushed to the nearby Florence's Careggi University Hospital and was admitted to intensive care.

Both teams were visibly distraught, with referee Daniel Doveri immediately suspending the game.
"The Viola player arrived at the emergency department in stable haemodynamic conditions and initial cardiological and neurological tests have ruled out acute damage to the central nervous system and the cardio-respiratory system. Bove will be re-evaluated in the next 24 hrs," read a statement from Fiorentina.
Who is Edoardo Bove?
Edoardo Bove is a 22-year-old Italian midfielder who was born in Rome to a German Italian mother. He is an Economics and Management student.
He started his career at Roma, where he made 65 appearances. He was part of Jose Mourinho's squad that won the Conference League in 2022.
Bove joined La Viola on loan in August and has since made 14 appearances for Raffaele Palladino's side. As captured by Transfermarkt, he has scored once and provided four assists in all competitions.
