Madueke's 2024/25 performances

Madueke made a phenomenal start to the season with four goals in his first two matches, including a hat-trick against Wolves.

However, he's bagged just one goal since. The 22-year-old has registered five goals and two assists in 13 appearances in all competitions this season, per Transfermarkt.

Maresca has kept faith in the young winger, but fans have started questioning his performances.

Poyet's warning to Madueke

According to Metro Sports, Poyet said Madueke is inconsistent, only performing in spells during a match.

"Noni Madueke will always be a player who has 30-minute spells where he’s incredible, but then he can go quiet in games," Poyet said.

Despite that, the former Sunderland coach believes Madueke is an important player for Maresca.

"He has been starting games very well but sometimes his performance declines throughout the game. That said, he is very direct and he is influential to the way that Chelsea play."
"He must make sure to keep himself humble and down to earth and keep doing what he does best."

The England star will continue to come under scrutiny as the Blues attempt to win the Premier League.
