Fans are convinced that the alleged viral videos of Baltasar Engonga have made their way to football after Atlanta United players did a telling celebration on Sunday.

Atlanta pulled off the biggest surprise in this season's Major League Soccer after they dumped Inter Miami from the playoffs.

I don't know if you've heard, but that guy called Lionel Messi plays for Inter Miami. Messi had just led them to a record-breaking regular season, making Atlanta's feat very impressive.

Coached by Rob Valentino, Atlanta beat Miami 3-2 in Florida to send the David Beckham-owned side packing in the first round of the playoffs.

It was an end-to-end game, which saw Messi score a rare header, but it was Bartosz Silz who delivered the final bow to eliminate the star-studded Inter Miami side.

Atlanta's celebration elicits reactions

In one of many of Atlanta's pictures celebrating, fans online took note of one of the pictures and related it to Engonga, who has provided a lot of fodder in social media discourses.

Engonga was the Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency until he was sacked, as reported by the BBC following his alleged videos leaked online. The videos allegedly show Engonga and multiple women, including spouses of high-ranking government officials.

Legit.ng has also reported how much money Messi's Inter Miami will miss out on after exiting the MLS Cup.

Atlanta beat Miami in the first round to register the biggest result of this season and advance to the Conference semi-finals.

Messi's side will now miss out on the hefty prize that comes with advancing to the latter stages of the MLS Cup.
