Guardiola reacts to Erik ten Hag firing

Guardiola's Man City lost the 2024 FA Cup final to Ten Hag's side, a victory that earned the Dutchman a contract extension.

However, his side have made a dreadful start to the season with just three wins in the league from nine matches.

"I feel very sorry for him, it's one of the best jobs in football. There's only us, it's not teachers or architects or something like that," Guardiola said via BeIn Sports.

The Spaniard added that results come first in their jobs.

"I wish him all the best and he will come back stronger. If the results aren't good enough, you get sacked. No-one is different, myself included."

Guardiola faced Ten Hag seven times, winning five and losing twice, per Transfermarkt.
