Nicolas Jackson: Chelsea Star Faces Punishment After Slapping Opponent vs Nottingham
- Nicolas Jackson faces potential sanctions from the Football Association (FA) for his involvement in the Stamford Bridge chaos
- The Premier League game between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest threatened to descend into anarchy after an incident on the touchline
- Jackson escaped without a booking, but the FA could review fresh footage that has since gone viral on social media
Nicolas Jackson could be in trouble after a video showed him slapping an opponent during the fracas that ensued at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea's disciplinary issues this season have been laid bare, with the club racking up many yellow cards in the first seven games of the season.
On Sunday, during their game against Nottingham Forest, the situation almost got out of hand after both players nearly came to blows.
The situation started when Neco Williams pushed Marc Cucurella, who in turn wiped out his manager, Enzo Maresca, on the touchline.
Referee Chris Kavanagh had difficulty controlling the situation with Cucurella, Williams, and Levi Colwill going into the book.
Footage from the incident suggests that the situation won't end there, with the Football Association (FA) most likely to open investigations.
Jackson faces potential punishment
Jackson, who had just been taken off for Christopher Nkunku, was among the players involved in the melee. Footage shows the Senegalese striker slapping Forest's Morato before he is pulled away by his teammates.
GMS understands that the VAR reviewed the situation but recommended no further action. However, in light of the new evidence, FA could be compelled to issue further directions.
Any potential ban for Jackson could be worse news for Maresca, who will be missing both Wesley Fofana and Cucurella for their trip to Anfield after the international break.
The game ended in a one-all draw after Chelsea failed to capitalise on their man advantage. James Ward-Prowse was sent off for two bookable offences. Noni Madueke cancelled out Chris Wood's opener shortly after the break to ensure the Blues maintained their place in the top four.
Rashford's words after being substituted vs Villa
At the same time, Legit.ng has reported that Marcus Rashford's message after being taken off against Aston Villa has sparked reactions.
The Manchester United forward wasn't happy after he was withdrawn for Antony. Fans are convinced they worked out what he said as he took his place on the bench.
