The former Ajax boss has addressed his future after his team's run of poor form.
After six Premier League matches, the 20-time English champions are 12th in the table with seven points, eight behind leaders Liverpool.
Tottenham went ahead in the 3rd minute through Brennan Johnson's tap-in thanks to Micky van de Ven's superb solo run.
Just before halftime, the Man United captain saw a straight red card for his tackle on James Madison, but some felt it wasn't red. Goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke in the second half condemned the Red Devils to another painful home defeat.
"It was clear, we started the game very poor, after we conceded a goal like we did, on the back post tapping in, that was our gameplan, we should protect that area, we knew their strengths. Then we were very stressful in the game, we didn't find spare man in the switch, couldn't keep ball, not aggressive enough in third man actions, we didn't get press right," Ten Hag said via The Athletic journalist Laurie Whitwell.
Ten Hag's side face Porto and Aston Villa before the international break, and it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman will stay in the role.
Erik ten Hag responds to sack rumours
Speaking after the match, Erik ten Hag is confident about his job despite a poor start to the season.
"No I am not thinking about this. We all made this decision to stay together in summer, as ownership group, leadership group. Also we made the decision, after a clear review, what we have to improve as an organisation + how to construct a squad," he said via Laurie Whitwell.
We are all there on one page, one boat, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff, players too."
Ten Hag was nearly sacked last season, but the FA Cup glory bought him some time. However, with the club making huge summer signings, fans expected much better from the team.
