The two are, without a doubt, two of the greatest footballers to grace the pitch, and it is hard to separate them.

Many felt the debate was settled when Messi won the 2022 World Cup, but that doesn't seem to be the case for Ronaldo fans. The Portuguese star has won everything but the World Cup.
Messi has won more Ballon d'Ors than the Al-Nassr superstar but has fewer goals. In 2018, Rashford said Messi is the GOAT.
“Some of the stuff that he does is unbelievable,” he said via Sportbible. “I’m a big fan of [Cristiano] Ronaldo as well, but I think Messi is the greatest ever.”
During the 2022 World Cup, after Ronaldo's unceremonious exit from Man United, Rashford hailed the former Real Madrid star.
"He's obviously one of my idols and someone I've always looked up to," he said via SuperSport. "So to have the opportunity to play with him is unbelievable and I'll take that with me and it's something that I can keep with me forever.
Ronaldo is 39 and hinted he could keep going, but it is unclear if he will play at the 2026 World Cup.
Beckham picks GOAT between Ronaldo and Messi
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has again named Messi the greatest of all time while snubbing Ronaldo in his top three.
Both are nearing the end of their careers and have departed European football, with the Argentine playing for Inter Miami in the MLS, while his rival is in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr.
Buffon comments on GOAT debate
In another report, Legit.ng reported that legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon made his pick in the GOAT debate.
The World Cup winner said both players are different, adding that Messi is complete while Ronaldo has the killer instinct.
