Ex-Olympic Champion Discloses His Favourite Manchester United Player After Visit

  • Eliud Kipchoge has opened up on his experiences after visiting Old Trafford and Manchester United players
  • Kipchoge was handed a United jersey by Bruno Fernandes before attending their game against Liverpool
  • The legendary marathon runner also commented on Manchester United's disastrous start to the new season

Eliud Kipchoge is still revelling from the grand reception he received at Manchester United this past weekend.

The double Olympic champion visited Manchester United players at their Carrington training complex. He thereafter attended their game against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

The visit was part of his tour to see the INEOS projects in Europe. He had earlier been in Barcelona, Spain before flying to England.

"It has been great to visit the different teams of the INEOS Sports Family. Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit Manchester United and exchange knowledge with the performance team and players," he said on Instagram.

Kipchoge picks his favourite Manchester United player

Speaking to Homeboyz Radio's Sir Lotan upon arriving back in the country, Kipchoge opened up on his experience at England's most successful football club.

"I met all the players. The U-23 side as well but maybe my favourite is Bruno Fernandes," he said.

Fernandes, who is United's skipper, gave Kipchoge his jersey during the meet-up.

Kipchoge predicts where Manchester United will finish

Kipchoge refused to be drawn into the debate on where Erik ten Hag's side will end up at the end of the season.

The Red Devils have started the season poorly, winning only one of their first three opening games.

"It is still early in the season. You can't predict. Let's wait and see."

The former marathon world record holder watched as Manchester United were torn apart by Liverpool. Luis Diaz bagged a brace as Mohamed Salah scored yet again at Old Trafford to complete the 3-0 rout.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to take a swipe at Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, while resuming international duty with Portugal.

Ronaldo fell down the pecking order when Erik ten Hag became Man United manager in 2022.

The Portugal legend made four Premier League starts and infamously stormed out of the field during a game against Tottenham Hotspur. He was banished from the team and later released.
