Why Manuel Ugarte Left Without Watching Manchester United vs Liverpool
- Manuel Ugarte was presented to Manchester United fans ahead of the Premier League game against Liverpool on Sunday
- Ugarte was, however, not present for the rest of the game as Luis Diaz starred in Liverpool's 3-0 away win
- Ugarte is expected to replace Casemiro straight away in the starting XI after the international break with Uruguay
Manchester United fans were treated to the first sight of their new signing, Manuel Ugarte, after he was unveiled at Old Trafford on September 1.
Ugarte penned down a five-year deal after sealing a €50million move from Paris Saint-Germain on Friday.
However, the midfielder was unavailable to face Liverpool as he had not registered before the Friday noon deadline.
The 23-year-old stepped out to an expectant Old Trafford crowd but, rather surprisingly, did not stay for the game against Arne Slot's charges. Other new signings from different clubs, like Arsenal's Raheem Sterling and Chelsea's Jadon Sancho, were presented to fans and watched the subsequent games.

Why Ugarte left Old Trafford immediately
A report by the Sun has revealed that the midfielder left to link up with his national team, Uruguay, for the international break.
It was a surprising decision, given that his national teammate Darwin Nunez was in action on the opposite dugout and played the last 14 minutes.
Uruguay played a friendly match against Guatemala a few hours after United's game against Old Trafford. Uruguay will play Paraguay and Venezuela in World Cup qualifiers. Ugarte has since arrived in Team Uruguay's camp.
Will Manuel Ugarte replace Casemiro?
Once he returns, Ugarte will have his work cut out for him, as he is expected to walk right into Erik ten Hag's starting XI. Casemiro delivered an embarrassing performance that saw him hooked off after 45 minutes. Ugarte is the perceived candidate to solve the long-standing midfield issues in ten Hag's squad.
Did Casemiro leave Old Trafford at halftime?
Legit.ng had earlier reported that ten Hag denied claims Casemiro left Old Trafford at halftime.
The Brazilian was withdrawn after 45 minutes after his errors gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead.
A video surfaced online showing Casemiro leaving the stadium after the game.
