Kai Havertz opened the scoring late in the first half thanks to Bukayo Saka's assist. However, Joao Pedro's 58th-minute strike earned the Seagulls a deserved draw.
Ian Wright on who is to blame
Speaking after the game, Ian Wright pointed at Thomas Partey for being at fault for Brightion's equaliser.
“When you look at the play, you look at Thomas Partey…he’s literally run past him,” the Gunners legend said via Football365.
“Thomas Partey has to recognise in that instant he has to go all the way with Pedro and at least make a challenge. Pedro blasts past him and he’s just kind of jogging back."
The Gunners are now two points behind defending champions Manchester City and face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby and Pep Guardiola's side.
Recently, Ian Wright called on several Gunners players to step up this season if the London club are to win the Premier League.
