It is barely a week into the new season, and the club is in crisis mode. Sterling joined the club in 2022 but has struggled to replicate his Manchester City team.
Lukaku appears to back Sterling
Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand shared a video of himself discussing the Sterling saga, in which he appeared to support the forward.
"Chelsea treatment of @sterling7 is WILD...Creating issues in their own dressing room surely?!!" the caption read.
"So when you kick that guy in the changing room, all of them are going to limp at some point and they aren't going to take it well and you create a problem in your own dressing room. There's nobody delivering that message with any clarity," Ferdinand said, via The Mirror.
The post shared on Instagram, was liked by thousands of people, and Lukaku was one of them.
Interestingly, Lukaku has not played with Sterling in a Chelsea shirt, and it seems he does not approve of the treatment the veteran is getting from the Blues hierarchy.
The former Everton star re-joined Chelsea in 2021 as one of their most expensive player, but things didn't go the way he expected.
The Belgian star is expected to reunite with Antonio Conte at Napoli in the coming weeks, per Football London.
