Cristiano Ronaldo Trolled by Messi Chants After Losing Super Cup Final
- Cristiano Ronaldo watched his Al-Nassr side concede four second-half goals as they lost the Super Cup to Al-Hilal
- Ronaldo had put Luis Castro's side ahead, but mistakes from their defence saw Al-Hilal run away with an emphatic 4-1 victory
- The Portuguese icon was then trolled by the Al-Hilal supporters who chanted the name of his arch-nemesis, Lionel Messi
Cristiano Ronaldo endured a difficult night after seeing his Al-Nassr side capitulate to pressure from an unforgiving Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal scored four goals in 17 minutes to wipe out Ronaldo's first-half opener and win the Saudi Super Cup on August 17 at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha.
Ronaldo thought he had put his side on a path to banish the demons of Al-Hilal when he scored from close range a minute before the break.
The Blue Waves, however, came back a changed side, putting their opponents to the sword with goals from Sergei Milinkonvic-Savic, Aleksandar Mitrovic (2) and Malcolm.
The quick turnaround after a series of questionable defending from Al-Nassr's backline infuriated Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was seen making gestures of the defence going to sleep.
Ronaldo trolled by chants of Messi
To make matters worse, he was subjected to chants of his arch-rival, Lionel Messi, by Al-Hilal fans as the game wound down.
@Iamstretch said,
"I wonder how Ronaldo feels each time he’s taunted with these Messi chants"
@EmmanuelKagia said,
"Al Hilal fans really know how to twist the knife with those 'Messi Messi' chants."
While @Harshit Patel said,
"Hahahahaha... Messi has become that Vodoo doll that's never getting off Ronaldo's back, no matter where he goes now."
Al-Hilal copy Lionel Messi's World Cup celebration
Al-Hilal layers added salt to injury by mimicking how Messi lifted the World Cup trophy in Qatar.
Ronaldo fails to pick up medal
Legit.ng has also reported that Ronaldo refused to pick up his medal.
The former Manchester United striker stormed down the tunnel at the end of the game and did not return for the medal ceremony.
