Mainoo, Garnacho equal Ronaldo's FA Cup record

Argentine wonderkid Garnacho, 19, struck first for United at the half-hour mark, capitalising on a miscommunication between Josko Gvardiol and goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

Fellow 19-year-old, Kobbie Mainoo, doubled the lead for Erik Ten Hag's men by finishing off a sweeping United move that caught the City defence off guard in the 39th minute.

In doing so, Garnacho and Mainoo became the first teenagers to score in an FA Cup final since Cristiano Ronaldo did so against Millwall in 2004, per Opta Analyst.

Teenagers power United to FA Cup success

A second-half strike from substitute Jeremy Doku provided a late scare for Man United, but the first-half goals from their teenage talents secured a 2-1 victory over City, 90Min reports.

United held on to clinch the win, marking their 13th FA Cup triumph, one less than Arsenal (14).

For the Red Devils, it was a fitting end to a tumultuous season, which saw them finish eighth in the Premier League, their worst in the era.

The victory against City, who had been crowned Premier League champions just a week earlier for a historic fourth time in a row, served as perfect revenge for ten Hag, who had lost to the same opponents in last season's final.
