Abidjan- Cote d'Ivoire. Senegal forward, Sadio Mane is finally off the market after marrying his long-time partner, Aisha Tamba, in a beautiful ceremony in the capital city of Dakar.
The announcement of the forward's wedding came as a surprise to many football fans, considering his love life has famously been kept a close secret.
The only time the Teranga Lions forward has ever spoken about marriage was about two years ago when he described the type of woman he would marry.
On Sunday, January 7, the former Liverpool winger introduced his lover and now wife to the world in an Islamic marriage ceremony, as reported by Pulse.
A few days before committing to his wife, Mane presented a stadium he built to the people of his hometown - Bambali - before heading off for his AFCON duties.
Who is Aisha Tamba?
Tamba was born in Casamance, a town bordering Bambali, the village where her husband hails from. She is 18 years old, according to Senegalese news outlet, Sene News. She is the daughter of an architect and speaks the native Mandingo language, the same as the Al-Nassr star.
Mane is said to have first spotted Tamba when she was just 16 years old but he did not approach her formally since she was a minor at the time. However, he reportedly communicated his intentions to his uncle, who is a friend of the family, which paved the way for their eventual union.
The Senegalese footballer is also said to have supported Tamba throughout her education. The now Mrs Mane is reportedly a scholar of the Quran - the Islamic holy text - having spent most of her youthful days studying at a private institute in Mbao. She is in her final year of school.
The couple have since provided a small window into their lives, as Legit.ng has also reported, with a video clip currently circulating online as interest in Mane and Tamba continues to build. Well-wishes have also kept pouring in for them as they begin a new life as husband and wife.
