RB Leipzig Starlet Xavi Simons Bags Another Prestigious Award in the Netherlands
- Xavi Simons has won the prestigious Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year award
- The 20-year-old Dutch youngster excelled for PSV Eindhoven last season scoring 19 goals
- Simons linked up with RB Leipzig on loan in July 2023 from PSG
Xavi Simons is having the time of his life at the moment after the 20-year-old forward was voted as the Talent of the Year following his exploits with PSV Eindhoven last season.
The Dutch starlet made 34 league appearances in total, scoring 19 goals and providing eight assists for PSV before sealing a deal back to Paris Saint-Germain, who then loaned him to RB Leipzig.

The Johan Cruyff Award is awarded to the Talent of the Year in the Dutch Eredivisie and affords the winner an opportunity to construct a Cruyff Court at a location of their choice.
This allows vulnerable youths to exercise easily and develop physically, socially and mentally to give back to the Dutch community, Cruyff Foundation reports.
Simons joins prestigious names like Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong, Christian Eriksen, and Matthijs de Ligt, who have previously won the prestigious Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year award.
Simons nominated for Rookie of the Month
Following his stellar start to the 2023/24 season with new club RB Leipzig, Xavi Simons has been nominated for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for August, Bundesliga reports.
The 20-year-old netted two goals and provided three assists in his first three games in the Bundesliga, which has prompted RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl to brag they have signed an exceptional player.
Simons will compete for the prestigious award against Bayer Leverkusen Nigerian forward Victor Boniface and Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu, both of whom have been equally exceptional.

Xavi Simons is already reaping the benefits of joining RB Leipzig following the Dutch midfielder’s superb start to life in the Bundesliga.
After rejoining former club Paris Saint-Germain from PSV Eindhoven this summer, the 20-year-old midfielder was sent on loan to the Bundesliga side to get playing time this season.
Simons has now become a key figure for RB Leipzig after just three games for the German club after making five goal contributions in his first month at the Bundesliga side.
