Sadio Mane made his highly-anticipated debut for Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr, after completing his move from Bayern Munich this week.
The Senegalese international secured a lucrative four-year deal with the Knights of Nahd following an unsuccessful one-season stint with the German giants.
While Mane aims to increase his already impressive trophy haul, it was his staggering salary that dominated discussions surrounding his transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
Amid the buzz surrounding his arrival, the two-time African Footballer of the Year made his first bow for Al-Nassr in their 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup clash against Zamalek.
Mane's debut against Zamalek
Introduced after halftime, the 31-year-old came close to marking his debut with a goal, but unfortunately, his effort missed the target.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, his teammate and captain - Cristiano Ronaldo - scored late in the game as the Egyptians held the Saudis to a 1-1 draw.
This was enough to secure Al-Nassr a place in the quarter-final stage of the Arab Club Champions Cup.
Mane will be eager for more game time and a stroke of better luck in front of the goal, as his team sets its sights on claiming the title.
However, they will face stiff competition from other top Saudi clubs, Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, along with Moroccan giants, Raja Casablanca.
Sadio Mane's astronomical salary
According to talkSPORT, Mane will pocket a whopping £650,000 a week at Al-Nassr, making him the second highest-paid African footballer behind Riyad Mahrez.
The former Manchester City star also swapped Europe for the Middle East after inking a deal with Al-Ahli.
