African Football Legend Roger Milla Celebrated By FIFA at 2022 World Cup

Legendary African footballer Roger Milla has been honoured by FIFA for being the oldest player to ever score at the World Cup.
The former Cameroon forward was presented with a plaque before the Indomitable Lions' Group G opener against Switzerland in Qatar.
Milla became the oldest player to score at the World Cup, when he netted in a game against Russia at the tournament in the United States in 1994.

In photos shared on social media, the now 70-year-old is seen receiving his plaque from FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

"The legendary Roger Milla has been honored before the Cameroon and Switzerland game. Oldest goalscorer in the history of the World Cup," wrote FIFA on Twitter.
The 1990 World Cup hero took to social media, to thank the world football governing body for celebrating his achievement.
"Thankful," wrote Milla on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Cameroon were punished in their opening game, after Yaoundé-born forward Breel Embolo scored the winner for Switzerland in their opening game.
The Indomitable Lions will next face Serbia before taking on Brazil in their final group.
Breel Embolo sinks Cameroon
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Breel Embolo scored against the country of his birth, as Switzerland defeated Cameroon 1-0 to make a winning start to their World Cup campaign on Thursday.
Embolo struck three minutes into the second half at the Al Janoub Stadium, as the Swiss team secured a vital three points in a group that includes tournament favourites Brazil and Serbia.
Cameroon have now lost their last eight World Cup matches going back to 2002.
Samuel Eto'o spotted training
Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o joined the Indomitable Lions' final training session, ahead of their Group G opener against Switzerland at the World Cup in Qatar.
Eto'o, who retired from the game in 2019, currently leads the Cameroonian Football Federation as its president.
Although he will not be playing against Switzerland, the FECAFOOT boss took the opportunity to motivate the players before Thursday morning's game.
