Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has narrated how he survived on the streets of Lagos in Nigeria, where he had to sell water on the streets.
The Nigerian international, who joined the Italian club Napoli in the summer of 2020, stated that he lost both parents while he was young.
Osimhen, who grew up around Olusosun in the Ojota area of Lagos, was part of the Golden Eaglets squad that won the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup in Chile, where he scored 10 goals in 7 matches.

He then played for the U23 team before earning a call-up from the then-Super Eagles coach, ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
The 23-year-old has been impressive since his move to Napoli and has so far scored 31 goals in 59 Serie A matches in total.
Speaking in a clip shared by Naija Footballers on Instagram, Osimhen said:
"I was born and brought up in Lagos. I grew up in Olusosun, an area of Lagos State. My humble beginning was really tough for me. I lost my mom when I was a very young boy, and three months later, I lost my father, he lost his job.
Osimhen explained how difficult things were for him and his elder brothers and sisters, and how he had to sell water amid the Lagos traffic just to survive.
"It was really tough; where I came from, nothing is promised. No one would tell you they believe in you, and I believed football was the only hope to survive and live a better life like we are living now."
GOAL earlier reported that Osimhen, who scored 18 goals in 38 appearances for the Ligue 1 side in the 2019-20 season, joined Napoli for a fee of around €50 million (£45m/$59m).
The Nigerian international was linked with a number of top European clubs, including Arsenal and Liverpool, but he decided to move to Naples.
