Heartland FC manager quits post

Heartland of Owerri team manager Promise Nwachukwu has resigned from his post.

Nwachukwu in a statement revealed that he was not leaving the Naze Millionaires because of a break down in relationship but rather for some 'soul searching'.
The former junior international thanked the Imo state government and especially the deputy speaker of the state's House of Assembly.

Nwachukwu said: “I’m not resigning from Heartland because of any strain relationship with anybody, neither was I not enjoying my job. But there is a time in ones life for soul searching and that is what has happened in this case.

“I want to pursue a career elsewhere, which will not be possible if I remain with Heartland. I’m extremely grateful to the state government, especially the deputy speaker, Honourable Ugonna Ozuruigbo for the opportunity to serve the state.”
Nwachukwu leaves the club 14th on the league table and on 23 points from 18 games, three off the relegation zone.
