Mamelodi Sundowns has confirmed what was long in the making.
Club chairman Thlopie Motsepe unveiled Bongani Zungu as the club's latest signing at Loftus Versfeld before the DStv Premiership encounter between Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

According to iDiskiTimes, Zungu had been linked with a move back to South Africa after his contract with Amiens had come to an end. There were reports that Chiefs had made an even bigger offer to Zungu than Masandawana’s initial offer, but coach Arthur Zwane had dismissed those claims.
At the time of publication, Masandawana was in a 2-0 lead against the Amakhosi. Gaston Sirino put the home team into a sixth-minute lead after pouncing on an error by Siyabonga Ngezana in the box.

The lethal Peter Shalulile then doubled the lead in the 17th minute via a penalty that was caused by the beleaguered Ngezana
The 29-year-old midfielder left Downs in 2016 to join Vitoria Guimaraes but now returned to South Africa after six years in Europe. He won four trophies during his first stint at Chloorkop, two PSL titles, one Nedbank Cup trophy and one Telkom Knockout.

As reported by Legit.ng, fresh from stunning the formidable DStv Premiership perennial champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the opening match of the new season, the Rockets then went on to announce their acquisition of Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker.
The 35-year-old former Bafana Bafana striker had been widely expected to sign with SuperSport United, having been training with the team since becoming a free agent.
