The footage is currently making the rounds showing the moment the Bundesliga tie between Ausburg and Mainz was temporarily stopped to allow Moussa Niakhate to break his fast.

Both teams had clashed on Wednesday evening, with hosts Ausburg going on to win the tie 2-1 courtesy of goals from Jeffrey Gouweleeuw and Ruben Vargas, while Silvan Widmer grabbed one goal for the visitors.

Play was temporarily stopped in the 65th minute as Muslim faithful Niakhate who was observing his fast was allowed to break right on the pitch.

It was gathered that the Frenchman broke his fast just thirteen minutes before the start of the game and went on to produce one of his finest nights in European football.
