Experienced Black Stars Midfielder Seals Move to Finnish Club TPS Turku

  • Finnish second-tier side TPS Turku have announced the signing of legendary midfielder Anthony Annan
  • The former Hearts of Oak and Schlake 04 star joins the Turku-based side on a one-year deal with an option to extend for another year

Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan has completed a move to Finnish outfit TPS Turku, the club have officially announced.

The 35-year-old joins the Turku-based club on a year deal after fruitful negotiations with the option to extend for a further year.

Annan was unattached after leaving fellow Finnish club Inter Turku in January, where he made just two appearances for the side.

Annan played for Hearts of Oak and won the Ghana Premier League with the Phobians before he departed for Europe in 2007.

The defensive midfielder has been a journeyman in football as TPS Turku will be the 15 club he has played for as a professional.

In the past, Anthony Annan has played for clubs abroad including HJK, Schalke, 1860 Munich, Osasuna, Vitesse Arnhem, Rosenborg, IK Start, and others.

The veteran midfielder played for Ghana 67 times with two goals to his credit.

Anthony Annan interested in returning to the Black Stars

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Ghanaian midfielder, Anthony Annan, who plays for Finish topflight club, FC Inter Turku says he is ready for a Black Stars invite if the country needs his services.

The 36-year-old is eyeing a return to the Black Stars after seven years.

In an interview with Sky Power FM, the petite midfielder disclosed that he has not hanged his boots when it comes to international football despite being out of the team since 2013.
