In footage shared on social media by Brazilian outlet ge.globo, the 18-year-old suffered a new setback as he twisted his left ankle during an attacking move on Palmeiras’ right flank.

The Palmeiras forward remained on the ground for over a minute before receiving treatment from the club's medical staff. He was quickly substituted and had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher.

Palmeiras head coach, Abel Ferreira, as reported by Metro Sports, voiced his concern about the forward’s injury, stating,

“It’s worrying. It’s unfortunate that this happened. Football is like that; he had already been sidelined, and we tried to push him in the last game to get him into rhythm for the next match.”

This injury is a significant blow for Estevao, who had only recently recovered from a sprain to his left ankle and knee before this fixture.

The future Chelsea forward now faces uncertainty about his availability for the first leg of Palmeiras’ Copa do Brasil last-16 match against Flamengo next Thursday.
