The Real Madrid defender became a villain for England in the first half after escaping a yellow card for halting a promising counter-attack led by Saka.

Carvajal forced to miss Spain’s celebration
As reported by Metro.co.uk, the 32-year-old was forced to miss a significant part of his team’s Euro title celebration after being randomly selected for testing by the competition’s anti-doping committee.
According to a previous report by UEFA.com, players can be chosen for testing at any time, and Carvajal had to interrupt his celebrations with his teammates until he provided a urine sample.
However, the defender rejoined the festivities after completing his doping test.
With Spain’s title triumph, Carvajal, along with Joselu Mato and Nacho Fernandez, joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Kepler Laveran, fondly known as Pepe, in achieving the rare feat of winning both the Euro and the UEFA Champions League in the same season.
