However, in the lead-up to this crucial match, amidst intense discussions and narratives, a report has emerged about the centre referee, Francois Letexier, revealing an unusual part-time job he holds.

Euro final referee unusual job surfaces

According to a report from Sportbible, the 35-year-old, who officiated his first Ligue 1 fixture at age 26, also works part-time as a court bailiff.

In a 2023 interview as reported by The Telegraph, Letexier discussed his dual roles. He explained how he became a referee while continuing his job at the chamber:

“I was attracted to the referees’ work – how they viewed the game, how they made decisions.
“I struggled early on. It took a lot of time – I had to grow up quickly. Refereeing helped me to get organised and structured.

“I have to thank many people for encouraging me and giving me advice along the way. They helped me to pass each step and get to where I am now.”

The French official will be assisted by compatriots, Cyril Mugnier, and Mehdi Rahmouni, in the Euro 2024 final, with 2022 World Cup final referee, Szymon Marciniak, serving as the fourth official for the match.

In another report, Legit,ng disclosed that Virgil van Dijk claims the Netherlands were 'robbed' after their semi-final clash with England in the 2024 UEFA European Championship.

A controversial Harry Kane penalty equalised Xavi Simons' screamer before substitute Ollie Watkins scored deep into stoppage time, securing Gareth Southgate's men a 2-1 victory at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

Reflecting on the match, Van Dijk suggested that referee Felix Zwayer's performance was subpar and hinted that the official hurried to the dressing room after the game to avoid confrontations with players.
