Stakeholder lauds Tinubu for approving outstanding payments
Meanwhile, reacting to the decision of President Bola Tinubu to approve N12 billion to clear owed salaries of Nigerian national teams, Chidiebere Anugwolu, a sports business and media expert, said the payment running up to 15 months is "a good move". But the US-based media practitioner expressed hope that the fund will be properly disbursed.
Anugwolu told Legit.ng:
“Good move from the presidency. However, there are lots of factors to consider as it regards actual and proper use of the funds and sports development in the country.
“Let’s hope the people in charge will use this money for the development of their various sports even though I think there has to be an overhaul on how sports is administered in the country in order to have genuine growth and development on the professional and grassroots levels.”
