The Sun now reports the Stamford Bridge dwellers have lined up Lukaku as an option and regard the Belgian as the 'most achievable' target.

The publication added Chelsea hierarchy is already working on a deal that will cost the club upward of £90 million.

Interestingly, this would be Lukaku's second stint at Stamford Bridge, having initially joined them from Anderlecht for £18m in 2011. They would later ship him out to Everton after managing just 15 appearances for the first team.

While at Everton, the Belgium international enjoyed a meteoric rise at Goodinson Park, courting the interest of Chelsea only for the striker to join Man United instead.

However, it is his stint at Inter Milan that has seen him cement his place as one of Europe's finest strikers.

The 27-year-old has already scored 61 goals in just 91 appearances for the Serie A side during his two-year spell at the club.

Chelsea will have to contend with competition from Man City in their attempt to sign their former player, with Pep Guardiola said to be a huge admirer of the forward.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Thiago Silva's wife, Isabelle has blamed Chelsea forward Timo Werner for the Blues' 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal clash.

The German forward had a chance to double his side's lead after Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the 14th minute but he missed the sitter.

His first miss was when he fired his shot straight into Thibaut Courtois from close range and later in the game, his effort went wide when he had better options.
