Super Falcons of Nigeria Drop One Place On Latest FIFA Ranking

Super Falcons of Nigeria dropped one position in the latest FIFA rankings released by the world football governing body on Friday, April 16.
The African champions are now the 38th best ranked female national team having previously occupied the 37th position in the world.

They failed to move up in the ranking despite Randy Waldrum leading them Turkish Women triumph back in February.
The Super Falcons however maintained top spot in Africa ahead of Cameroon, South Africa, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Tunisia, Morocco, Mali, Algeria and Senegal.
World champions USA are the No. 1 team in women’s football in the world while Germany are in second position.
Netherlands come in third as France, Sweden, England and Brazil complete the top seven. The Super Falcons are the only African team in the top 50.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles of Nigeria have been rated as the 3rd best footballing nation in Africa in the latest FIFA ranking with Gernot Rohr and his men occupying 32nd in the world.
This latest rise by the Super Eagles in the FIFA ranking was as a result of their incredible wins over Lesotho and Benin in their last two African Cup of Nation qualifiers back in March.
Gernot Rohr and his men were impressive in Porto Novo beating Benin Republic 1-0, while they defeated visiting Lesotho 3-0 at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos.
The two wins helped the Super Eagles to finish their campaign as leaders in their group as they secured a ticket to the 2022 African Cup of Nations which will be played in Cameroon.
Senegal are occupying first position in Africa and they are placed 22 in the world, while Tunisia occupy second in Africa and are 26th in the world.
In the global ranking, Belgium are still the no.1 ranked footballing country in the world and they are being followed by France, while Brazil occupy third position.
England's three lions are fourth in the world ranking, while Portugal are occupying fifth position.
