Tension for Arteta as Nigerian striker vows to destroy Arsenal in Europa League clash at the Emirates
The duo of Martin Odegaard and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang face a late fitness test to determine if they can play any role in the fixture.
Odegaard has missed two of Arsenal's most recent matches, including their weekend win over Sheffield United in the Premier League.
Aubameyang, on the other hand, has been struggling with illness, making him a doubt for the second leg of the European competition.
"Auba missed Sunday’s match against Sheffield United due to feeling unwell,’ the north London club explained on Wednesday. He continues to be assessed ahead of Thursday’s match regarding his availability," the Emirates outfit explained.
"Martin missed the first leg against Slavia Prague last Thursday and Sunday’s match against Sheffield United. He continues to be assessed ahead of Thursday’s match regarding his availability," the club added.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta faces a major headache on how to set up his defence, with both David Luiz and Kieran Tierney unavailable for selection.
Tierney suffered ligament damage to his left knee against Liverpool and he is expected to be out for a couple of days.
Arsenal will be looking to get the job done in the Czech Republic for a chance to book a place in the semi-finals of the second-tier continental showpiece.
The north Londoners settled for a 1-1 draw during the first leg played at the Emirates a week ago.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that following Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final qualification, attacking winger Christian Pulisic has equaled a staggering record set by Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
After his sublime performance against Porto in the quarter-final second leg, Pulisic equaled a record that the Argentine star set in 2011.
The 22-year-old mesmerized the Porto defence during the showdown which attracted 11 fouls against him on the night.
